One thing: in past years we've included a browser Adobe Flash player. About half the time it works and half the time it doesn't. I'm going to leave it out this year and see how it goes. Hello artists!!!! We are looking for talented people to help us make cover art for the upcoming podfics! So, whether you work with charcoal and paper, pen and ink, paints, or photoshop ... whether you specialize in original art or manips ... we would love to have you on board with us!

When you sign-up here, you are saying that you are open to being contacted by podficcers (or desperate mods) for creating cover art. If podficcers do not wish to create their own cover art, or wish to have a more collaborative experience, they will contact you personally. We (the mods) are not going to be matching up podficcers and artists.

Rules for Cover Art
1) Covers must be 400 x 400 pixels
2) The title, author name, and reader name must be visible.

2019 Mentor Sign-ups

Hello all!!!! Participants, especially new ones, are in need of some mentoring. We want people to have fun with this fest, and that means being comfortable in recording and editing. So, here is the sign-ups for people willing to mentor or answer questions.

1) Have you recorded at least one other podfic?
2) Can you be enthusiastically encouraging in the face of fear?
3) Are you comfortable giving basic tech support for software of your choice? (we're not talking major problems, just how to get going, the basics of editing, and other goodies)
4) Can you point people in the direction of other good tutorials?
5) Can you give a new podficcer some tips and tricks and get them starting off on the right foot?

If so, consider signing-up as a mentor!!!! There won't be an official matching program here. This will just be a list of more experienced podficcers willing to be helpful to a new podficcer.

New podficcers, you do not have to contact anybody on this list if you don't want to (i.e. having a mentor is not required). This is just here for your reference, so that you know that if you want or need help, there are people here ready to support you!!!

2019 Beta Sign-ups

Hello all! We are looking for willing ears!!!

All the podfics submitted need to be beta-ed. For the purpose of this fest, that means that it needs to be heard by someone who listens for things like:

1) Repeated lines or Wrong words
2) General weirdness
3) Background noise so high you can't hear the podfic

This is like the equivalent of a SPaG beta in the fic world. If a podficcer wants a more thorough concrit, they can work that out with their beta of choice or contact a mentor.

So, if you're willing to give a podfic a pre-listen, sign up to beta by filling in the following form in the comments! Interested podficcers will contact you personally.

Author sign-ups for HP Podfic Fest 2019 are now open.

Hello lovely HP Authors!!! Now is the time to dust off your fics and let them be heard! Author offerings run from now through July 31.

You - the author - will be offering blanket permission for the purpose of this fest on up to five specific fics you have written and have never been recorded before. You may stress in your sign-up that you give blanket permission for any fic of yours not previously podficced.

LIMIT OF FIVE FICS!

ANY PAIRING - het, slash, femme, threesomes, gen

ANY RATING - G through "OMG did they really write this smut?!"

ANY GENRE - romance, humor, mystery, action, dark!fic, crossover

ANY LENGTH - drabble, mid-length, epic - though shorter is more likely to get picked

If it has something to do with Harry Potter, it’s welcome here! \o/

Please Note: Offering your fics does not guarantee that one will be podficced, because different podficcers look for different things in the fics they record. So put your fics out there, because you never know what's going to catch a podficcer’s eye, but don't be sad if one isn't selected in this round.
